Our story

Decoupage Studio started with a storage box.

What began as a project with my mother unexpectedly turned into something much bigger.

The storage box that started it all.

My mother was the one who first told me about decoupage. She’d discovered this fun, somewhat niche art form and wanted to try it, so the two of us decided to make a project together.

I’ll admit, at first I didn’t really see the vision.

We started working on an ordinary storage box, and for most of the project I was happy to go along with it, but I wasn’t exactly convinced this was going to become my thing. Then, somewhere around three-quarters of the way through, I looked at what we were making and thought:

“Hang on... this is actually really neat.”

Once I saw that plain storage box transforming into something completely different, it clicked. I started thinking about other designs, other styles, and all the things you could do with them.

Turns out, we didn’t stop at the outside.

Before long, I was making designs of my own. Then I started building a website to put them somewhere.

And somehow, that’s how we ended up here.

There wasn’t a grand plan to start a decoupage business. Decoupage Studio grew out of trying something new with my mom, unexpectedly falling in love with it, and following that curiosity to see where it would take me.

Today, I’m building collections inspired by all kinds of things I find beautiful or interesting—from vintage artwork and old-world details to florals, weathered textures, and more playful, whimsical designs.

My mom still gives me ideas and input along the way, which feels fitting considering she’s the reason any of this exists in the first place.

And it all still comes back to that first storage box.

That’s what I love about decoupage. Sometimes you don’t quite see the vision when you start. Then somewhere along the way, it comes together—and an ordinary object becomes something you genuinely love.

I’m glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to see what you make.
